Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This artwork was created for my 2018 solo exhibition, 'Creatures of the Deep' at the Salamanca Arts Centre in Hobart.
Slender Hatchetfish Facts:
Scientific name: Argyropelecus affinis.
Inhabits the ‘Twilight Zone’ (found mainly at depths between 400m to 650m in the daytime, rising to the surface at night).
Did you know? The Hatchetfish has very good eyesight. Their extremely large eyes are very sensitive to light, and point upwards, so they are able to distinguish the silhouettes of potential food falling from above!
This painting is acrylic on stretched canvas, sealed with gloss varnish. It is wired and ready to hang.
The gallery-wrapped edges of the canvas are painted, so there is no need for framing.
