Two Vases

A still life of a two vases in midnight blue and royal blue. This piece was an exercise in light, shadow and form. I love setting up a still life, preferably in a sunny spot to get interesting shadows and light variations.

WilhelminaM is an emerging artist in Southeast Melbourne on Boonwurrung country who makes small still life paintings using gouache, ink sketch and watercolour. Her work is about contemplation and simplicity. She enjoys finding the beauty in ordinary everyday objects and seeing how slight shifts in arrangement as well as light can create different emotions and moods. WilhelminaM also enjoys experimenting with landscapes, portraits and scenes. She has recently begun entering small exhibitions across Melbourne.
