Artwork Description

Wiradjuri, Kamilaroi & Wailwan Men sharpened stone spear points and axe heads by grinding them against abrasive sandstone or slate along the Castlereagh river or dry creek beds, creating grooves and smooth, durable edges, a process often done with water, sometimes using plant fibers for fine shaping, and utilizing tools like hammer stones to create preforms and specialized points.

Some creeks near Gilgandra NSW have a few of these rock markings present today along the creek. It’s pretty humbling to sit near them knowing warriors and hunters were once present in a different time.

Artist Bio

A proud Wiradjuri man, he expresses culture, story, and identity through contemporary Indigenous art. His artwork reflects a deep connection to Country, family, and the living traditions passed down through generations.

While grounded in the storytelling spirit of traditional Aboriginal art, his style embraces bold, non-traditional colours that bring a modern energy to ancient narratives.

Each painting represents pathways, gatherings, waterholes, and the enduring relationship between people and land. Through layered dots and flowing patterns, he captures memories of family, community, and the spiritual connection to Country that continues to guide his life, - The perfect Artist to capture your story through commissions.
