My beautiful Slavic granddaughter was again my muse. Our recent visit together to the family farm in Africa was the inspiration for this painting. It was the first time she experienced farm life.
I love to use illustration boards, although the watercolour technique is minimal on this surface because the board absorbs a lot of the paint, and the colours are not as vibrant as they would be on watercolour paper. I also used my beloved monochrome colour pallet.
The black frame with a thin gold inside border and black mat board compliments the artwork's monochrome pallet and visual appearance.
