This painting is a topographic rendering of rockholes surrounding Lake Christopher, a large and usually-dry lakebed in the remote Rawlinson Ranges of the Ngaanyatjarra lands. While the lake only fills with water after big rains, these rockholes have kapi (water) in them even in the dry season. These rockholes are surrounded by tali (sandhills) and bush flowers and plants. Winsome's aunt was born at these rockholes and she has visited this country with her uncle. This area is Winsome's father and grandfather's country and she enjoys visiting with family to see it regularly, last visiting in 2020.
