Artwork Description

I painted this scene on location by the Huon River in Tasmania. The stillness of the morning, the soft mist over the hills, and the quietly moored sailboat created a moment of calm that I wanted to hold onto through paint.

I used Daniel Smith professional watercolours on handmade 300gsm Khadi rough paper. The pigments in these paints are beautifully transparent and lightfast, helping me capture the delicate tones of the landscape and reflections on the water.

I hope this small sketch brings a sense of peace and presence—like pausing for a breath on a cool Tasmanian morning.

Artist Bio

I am a watercolour artist based in Tasmania, where the natural beauty of the landscape inspires much of my work. Surrounded by mountains, coastlines, and changing skies, I find endless inspiration in the colours and texture of the world around me. Through my art, I hope to invite viewers to slow down, appreciate the beauty of nature, and perhaps see familiar landscapes in a new light.
