Autumn is Calling

Living among forest, water, bush tracks, and memories of my travels, I seek to express a connection with nature, which continually inspires awareness of vibrant energy and moments of presence within an ephemeral world. The paintings represent a viewpoint, an imagination, an emotional response, whose forms and colours I hope may bring forth some magical stories.

I would like to think painting landscape is not to transfer an image, but to hold the emotional essence of the landscape, and with the hope of sharing some poignant moments with viewers whoever they might be.

Born in Taiwan, Yeats is interested in creative activities such as writing, fashion design, drawing, fibre arts, ceramics and painting. She has resided in Taiwan, USA and Spain, and now lives in Australia where she established her career in Education, and has pursued various visual art forms in ceramics and painting after retiring. She held many successful art exhibitions in ceramics and presented by various galleries for her works in Brisbane and Sunshine Coast area.

Being a ceramic artist has led her to produce works searching for the unity of form and surface design, catching the traces of life experience. Since then and following her passion for colours and self-interpretation through natural landscape, she has switched to the two-dimensional form of expressive painting. It marks the beginning of another phase in her personal journey as an artist.
