Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

Painted as an Archibald Prize attempt 2019. Here is the first and the last Qantas 747’s. With Qantas retiring the majestic Queen of the Skies in 2020. The man in the painting is the last Qantas executive manager of 747 Alan Milne who is now Managing Director of Air Niugini. The 747 also reached a milestone in 2019 with its 50th Birthday. This is a homage to the ideal aircraft that emancipated so many Australians over the years since it was introduced.
