I am a Gansu-born, Sydney-based artist with a deep-rooted passion for still life and figurative painting. My journey into the world of art was nurtured from an early age, growing up in a family of artists who were deeply connected to the traditions of Chinese painting. The rich cultural heritage of my upbringing continues to influence my work today.
My artistic journey led me to the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the Chinese Academy of Oil Painting, where I immersed myself in the study of oil painting. During these formative years, I discovered the profound ability of this medium to convey emotion and narrative with striking depth and subtlety.
My work is especially influenced by the masters Edouard Manet and Camille Pissarro. Manet's innovative compositions and use of color, combined with Pissarro's ability to depict natural scenes with a sense of quiet realism and depth, have deeply shaped my artistic vision. Landscape and still life have always been my favorite subjects, as they allow me to explore the quiet beauty of the world around us.
In my paintings, I aim to communicate a sense of simplicity and beauty, inviting viewers to find meaning in the subtleties of everyday life. By distilling subjects to their essential elements, I encourage contemplation of the inherent value and hidden narratives within ordinary objects. My use of color and texture is informed by a deep understanding of oil painting techniques, enabling me to create evocative and visually compelling pieces.
Throughout my career, I have participated in various group and solo exhibitions in Beijing and Sydney, where my work has been well-received by audiences and collectors alike. Each of my paintings is an invitation to pause, reflect, and engage in a deeper exploration of the human experience, framed by the serenity and stillness that nature provides.
