Artwork Description

Watercolour painting on 100% cotton paper.
These nutmeg mannikin or spice finch reminds me of my childhood and my home back in India. I would watch them with my mother as they flick their tail and fly in numbers. They are always in a flock and communicate with whistle like call. They always catch my eye because of their striking colour against the green of the plants. They are common in paddy fields where farmers consider them as a minor pest because of them feeding on the grains.
This painting will be a great addition to both, Modern and traditional interiors.
