Artwork Description

This artwork is a tribute to the fearless spirit of Nalisa, who has inspired me with her unwavering commitment to body positivity and breaking through society's rigid ideals of beauty and fashion. I wish to invite the viewers to celebrate the beauty of individuality and self-expression.

The composition of this piece centers around Nalisa, my muse, who radiating confidence and self-assurance. Her figure is rendered in a bold, expressive style, emphasizing the curves and contours of her body in a way that defies traditional notions of beauty and perfection.

The medium used in this artwork are oil pastel and professional grade acrylic paint. This piece has been elegantly set in an oak wood frame with museum glass, also with a wire-back ready for hanging.

Artist Bio

I am a Sydney-based artist originally from Sabah, Borneo. My creative journey has been shaped by a lifelong curiosity for beauty, culture, and the stories found in everyday moments. Before dedicating myself to painting, I spent many years travelling internationally as a fashion model, an experience that refined my sensitivity to colour, composition, light, and form.
Working primarily with oils and acrylics, I create semi-abstract works that explore memory, nature, and emotion. Rather than capturing subjects literally, I seek to express their atmosphere.
