Artwork Description

Still Point is a deeply personal abstract painting that quietly holds presence. It began with a single circular mark—a kind of centre—around which the work gently unfolded. Later, coded markings were added to the side edges, visible only up close. These etched-like glyphs were placed with intention, carrying a quiet insistence on clarity, balance, and recovery.
Softly textured and painted in layered neutrals with subtle shifts in tone, the piece brings a grounded, contemplative energy to a room. The surface catches light gently throughout the day, allowing the painting to shift in mood and depth. There is rawness here, but also peace—a sense of stillness beneath the surface.

It pairs beautifully with organic or minimal interiors and can stand alone or be part of a larger grouping. A quiet statement work for thoughtful spaces. Comes ready to hang, with a certificate of authenticity included.

Artist Bio

I’m an artist with a deep love for emotional mark-making, layered materials, and the unseen stories that emerge through paint. I was born in Poland and moved to Australia in my late teens. After studying in Melbourne, New York, and Berlin, I lived in Melbourne for over 30 years before making a sea change to Gippsland — where I now live and work among birdsong, a wild garden, and one very unruly dog.

My work is grounded in raw pigments, sacred materials, and emotion-led mark-making. It explores gesture, energy, and the unseen stories held in the body — often evolving from a single feeling or instinct into layered, intuitive compositions.

I hold advanced diplomas in both visual art and photography. I’ve exhibited in group and solo shows across Australia and have received several art awards along the way. I often reuse old frames for their history and resonance, and I work across large and small formats — from intimate studies to bold, expressive pieces.

Right now, I’m building two bodies of work: one deeply soulful, and one created simply for joy.
