Part of a series of paintings which depicts different doors and different openings. Personally‚ I find doors fascinating‚ as the face of a home or a place. They appear to say one thing about the place‚ but can present another upon entry.
These doors are part of a set of four which have a \"green\" theme.
Green is often associated with prosperity‚ health and harmony in Chinese traditions. Following my sense of proportion‚ I carved out of a door in a sandstone wall (aged by humidity and moss)‚ for this entrance. I would imagine it leads to a Treasury of sorts. The door opens by placing your hand inside the lion head mouth - it certainly gets a wipe down everyday which is why it\'s so shiny.
