Artwork Description

This two-piece abstract series employs a vivid red ground to evoke a metaphysical landscape in which the moon emerges from a realm beyond the visible. Dominated by dark crimson tonalities, the works integrate bold visual languages—lines, colours, circles, and rhythmic repeating patterns—to articulate a sense of cosmological tension and continuity. A band of rainbow-coloured stripes links earth and sky, functioning as a symbolic conduit between the material and the transcendent. Together, the paintings construct an immersive visual field that probes the relationship between terrestrial existence and celestial ascent.

Artist Bio

Daniel Lin (b. 1973) is a Sydney-based practicing artist specializing in painting and sketching with a focus on human-figurative abstraction. His work synthesizes cultural and religious landscapes, situating the human form within terrains shaped by collective memory and symbolic tradition. Through richly imaginative visual narratives, Lin examines enduring questions of humanity, tracing social and intellectual myths that linger between transience and infinity. His practice engages with the evolving dialogue between material existence and metaphysical inquiry, offering a refined exploration of how lived experience intersects with timeless contemplations.
