Australian deserts have many moods and many different features. They aren't just "sand" or "red dirt". They have shadows and shapes and all degrees of tones. This painting seeks to reflect an impression I gained of the landscape of the Great Sandy Desert whilst travelling through that region. My paintings are often executed in a fashion that combines my visual memory of a place combined with the emotional response I get from such a memory - and this painting is a good example of that.
