This contemporary take on a classic Australiana subject matter was created with the intention of capturing the afternoon shadows cast on the silver gums with glowing golden hues. An almost retro vibe has been captured with the earthy ochre tones which is warm and settled in the correct space. It is a large canvas which draws you in to look at the textured paint and outline details. The title 'When Silver Met Gold' symbolises this ongoing enduring seasonal changes of the eucalyptus trees and this meeting of the two colours signifiying this particular moment in time during the season. It's familiar yet strange and the contemporary outlook is designed to harness that emotion. This statement piece is finished and framed in raw Tasmanian Oak.
