Artwork Description

Preparing a birthday cake. Blending slippery eggs with soft pillowy flour, small grittiness of sugar melting into butter. The frippery of icing worthy of the celebration.

Light, energy, emotion - I am interested in visual perception and visual sensation. Nature inspired organic shapes and contrasts of colour and texture explore themes of energy and place. Brushstrokes are left raw and immediate recording my presence in the work. Their abstraction invites a collaboration with the viewer to complete a mood or experience that is individual to each person.
