Artist Bio

Alexander is a Melbourne based artist. He is known for his unique style of capturing the beauty of Australian nature through vibrant colours, drawing inspiration from detailed patterns in the environment. After studying visual Arts in 2007, Alex discovered that his artistic style comes from his subconscious and his own emotional states. He firmly believes that his art should come from a place of beauty and inspiration, each canvas alluding to that something that is a part of all of us, something bigger, while inviting viewers to bridge the gap to a world that is abstract, yet familiar. Out of the studio, Alex will take any chance to be surrounded by earth's treasures and take appreciation from the smaller things in life, like the beauty of sun reflecting on a wave in the water. Alex’s approach to his art can be summed up from a quote found in a newspaper by his Grandfather: “Art demands nothing. You never have to bring to art anything other than yourself.”

A Message from Alexander:
My art is heavily influenced by the beauty in the organic and the joys of life. A state of flow is created by the thrill of falling in love with the creative process. With each painting, I want to bridge the gap between abstract and nature. Full of vibrant colours and shapes.
while adhering to techniques and teachings, I rely on internal messages, my inner world knows what to paint and I listen. There’s something quite beautiful and exciting about the fact that it seems like I have no control of what I am painting and don’t know what will arise next. It often feels like the painting is telling me what to do.
