I am a great fan of the tradition of afternoon tea so was inspired to create this painting depicting all things that are pretty and related to this subject. These were based on a high tea that I put on myself so all the objects in these paintings are mine. Many of the dishes and cups belonged to my Grandmothers so for me there is a touch of nostalgia. In our modern era traditions like these are pushed aside more often than not as irrelevant and old fashioned. I believe that they are anything but irrelevant. This sort of afternoon tea brings people together and eating home made food always has a soothing effect.
