Have you ever tried a hot chocolate with scotch in it?

I had it for the first time, reluctantly, when I was in Scotland years and years ago. I was on a boat searching for the Loch Ness monster, I asked for brandy in my hot chocolate, but the Scottish bartender said "no, you want scotch" and started pouring The Famous Grouse into a mug before I had a chance to object. He could sense my hesitation as he handed me my drink and assured me that if I didn't like it, he would take it back and make me the brandy. Of course he was right and I loved it.

It was winter time over there and it was so cold out on the water, it was the perfect drink to warm me up. I told myself it was going to be my new favourite winter drink that I would have all the time when I got home - all these years later and I haven't had it once since that day. But, the currently cold Adelaide weather has me thinking I need to finally recreate it. For now, I’ll happily settle for looking at this artwork and reminiscing.
