Artwork Description

Cardboard sculpture on wood block

Signed certificate of authenticity.

Sculpture

Mosaic is the second piece in a series of experimental outcomes in the Nerdy Cardboard project. The challenge is to change the way we see a material. In this case the medium is the humble but amazing corrugated cardboard box. I believe that all materials can be used for so much more than their original purpose and that all we need to do is be open to the possibilities. I am willing to discover and reveal the beauty within the material.

This piece focuses on the black text, barcodes and everyday words that people write on these boxes in permanent marker & pen. It all has the ability to become something beautiful and unique.

This material study is 15cm x 15cm x 2.5cm and has a matte finish. Signed on back.
Does not require a frame. Can be 'stand alone' or in a group with other pieces from the series or hung on a wall.
