It showcases the integration of traditional art techniques and

Technique
Utilising the diverse range of mediums and brush types available
in Procreate, the Coastal Banksia artwork includes “digital” Acrylic,
Gauche, and Oil paints. The artist has blended colours and textures
to evoke the essence of the Coastal Banksia (Banksia integrifolia),
capturing the natural beauty and intricacies of this Australian native
flora. The artwork is finished with digital pencil details and highlights
to enhance depth, added to accentuate textures and shading to the
botanical artwork.

Process
The artist drew inspiration from the natural world, from the coastal
landscape to the graceful form of Banksia blooms and seed pods.
Beginning with an initial sketch of real-life specimens of the Coastal
Banksia, the artist meticulously developed the composition. The
layering of the different mediums and details is consistent with
traditional artistic techniques but applied in a digital environment,
creating a unique connection between the artwork and its natural
inspiration and setting.
