Ben’s walk in Nowra was the inspiration for this work. Thick application of oil paint with palette knife. Pastel colours are relaxing . This square shape fits most spaces and would enhance any room.
Ann Rayment 56 artworks | 5 Sold Follow Contact Ann A contemporary landscape artist from NSW. I was a school teacher for 35 years before I gave it up to open a gallery / studio and teach art classes . I love colour and texture and I challenge myself to find new ways to include this in my work. The Australian landscape is my inspiration. I love to work ‘plein air’ creating a response to my surroundings. While I use a variety of materials and processes in each work, the tools I most enjoy and use are the paint brush on a long stick and my hands. Using these gives me a real freedom which comes through in my work. The works on paper that I produce on site often become the beginning of a work on canvas. The collage pieces are layered with acrylic and glazes , scratched and scraped to reveal hidden surprises. The marks are loose and unpredictable just like the Australian landscape.
