Artwork Description

The central focus is a sandy path meandering through shadowy dunes that frame the sides of the image. These dunes, covered in tufts of beach grass, cast long, soft shadows, creating a sense of depth and texture. The path itself is composed of fine, golden sand, inviting viewers to imagine the feel of it underfoot.

In the distance, the pathway opens up to reveal a glimpse of the ocean, its waves gently lapping against the shore. The horizon is be tinged with the soft hues of dawn or dusk, adding a tranquil and atmospheric quality to the scene.

The play of light and shadow across the dunes highlights their undulating forms, emphasizing the natural beauty and tranquility of the coastal landscape. The overall composition of the artwork evokes a sense of peace and the quiet anticipation of reaching the beach, making it a captivating and evocative piece.

Artist Bio

Ann enjoys creating seascapes using both acrylic paints and pastels. Her dynamic colours capture the essence of summer and a joyful memory of a time and place. Ann is inspired by the ever changing ocean and has great passion capturing the form and beauty of large dynamic waves. Light plays an important part of her painting process, capturing the early morning hues of yellow, orange and gold as the sun glints through the tips of the scrub and that time on the beach when the day is starting to cool.

Ann has been sharing her knowledge by teaching art both locally, interstate and internationally. Ann encourages people to paint in their own style and to view images and translate it to their artwork in their own special way.
