I was struck by the cheery tropical red and foliage of this flower arrangement, and after sketching it,
worked it up into an acrylic painting. The variety of heliconia is "Christmas", which suits its colouring very well. The background is a bluey grey and the cloth shades of mauve to pink.
A great gift for a heliconia lover and those who like tropical garden plants.
