The painting wants a calm, human room. It'll do all the talking.
I just kept layering blue until it felt true. And then the green came through. And the red. Colours I thought I'd moved past, surfacing anyway.
That's when I understood what the painting was about.
You don't get to the blue without everything underneath it. The blue isn't despite the rest — it's because of it. Every layer that came before is still there, still present, still part of what makes the surface luminous.
This is a painting about becoming.
