Delicate white stitching forms the tree’s roots and branches, which spiral outward to support a vibrant tapestry of colour and symbolism. The central bloom — a radiant purple and orange flower — anchors the composition like a beating heart. From it, golden stems reach upward, blossoming into clusters of mustard yellow, soft blue and peach-hued flowers.

Among the foliage perch two whimsical, patterned birds stitched in ochre and cream, while butterflies and tiny floral stars are scattered throughout, adding to the sense of wonder.

Lush leafy forms in sage green, terracotta, cream and plum sprout in all directions, celebrating the abundance of nature.

The circular frame evokes a portal — a living mandala — honouring the interconnected web of life, spirit, and earth.
The circle also represents the physical 3m circle that I sat in my quest for 4 days and 4 nights.

Two monarch butterflies, wings patterned vividly in orange and black, flutter among the roots, symbolising transformation and pollination.

At the very base, twin circular forms with green stitched leaves anchor the composition — mirrored like portals back to the surface world.

The entire piece is alive with texture, colour and intricate stitching, creating a tapestry that celebrates the vibrancy, beauty and sacred interconnectedness of the natural world.
