The composition is immediately striking. The tall, evenly spaced tree trunks create a rhythmic vertical grid that frames and isolates the three figures, giving the painting a strong architectural feel. Placing the moon centrally above the middle figure reinforces that vertical axis and makes the scene read like a staged ritual or tableau.
