Gilgamesh was a major hero in the ancient Mesopotamian mythology and the protagonist of the Epic of Gilgamesh, an epic poem written in Akkadian during the late 2nd millennium BC. He was also most likely a historical king of the Sumerian city-state of Uruk. Gilgamesh was also considered master of animals. After reading the 'Epic of Gilgamesh,' I painted this work, taking the poem literally as if Gilgamesh was a real person. No one knows for sure. The work depicts my emotions concerned this character from antiquity.
It is painted in the style of abstract expressionism.
