I was influenced by the juxtaposition of the Daffodil and all the British background of this flower with that of India and Rajasthan where I traveled to during the 90s. . "I wandered lonely as a cloud....... when all at once I saw a crowd, - A host of golden daffodils.....". British rule was between 1858-1947 as the English made use of all the raw materials that India had to offer. Tea, indigo, coffee, cotton, jute and opium. They gave back (unintentionally, tea, cricket and the English Language) So when I wandered through India, I was smitten with their cultural use of bright colors, and the very spicy foods. I have called this piece with a name that merges the two cultures in acknowledge of the Rah rule and the many people who lost their lives. As an overlay to this piece, I have used some of the vines growing in my own back yard which is a testament to remembrance and forgiveness. I have used acrylics and gold leaf.
