This work depicts the birth of the Greek Goddess Nyx, the Goddess of Night. A shadowy figure, Nyx stood at or near the beginning of creationA shadowy figure, Nyx stood at or near the beginning of creation. As such this work has been created as a black in black work, with a raised textured swish representing Nyx. The textured part is crested using modelling paste and has then been painted over the same colour as the background, so the surface colour of the work is black.
