The "Birth of" series celebrates the mythological characters and deities within the Ancient Greek culture. In ancient Greece gold was a metal that was precious to the gods to the extent that they were dressed in gold. As such I have chosen to use gold leaf in many of the works to reflect this connection with the material. The circular swirl emphasising creation myths and how in many mythological stories being just came into existence.
