Although nature and landscape are the themes of this series of paintings, my hope is that they are about more than that. The intention is to convey an uplifting, calm and quiet mood while still having a colourful impact.
The warm orange background on this large painting is built up with multiple glaze layers of translucent paint to give the painting depth and luminosity. The bird is painted in a complimentary blue so that it stands out.
Painting is on plywood which is backed with a timber support frame.
Only professional artist quality paints are used. The board is first sealed, the edges are black and the painting is finished with layers of protective varnish. Heavy duty "D" rings and cord are attached so that the painting is ready to hang.
