This work is a response by a naturalized Australian of UK birth, from across the world, to Brexit. It envisages a modern nation, with every benefit and opportunity, (albeit with intractable and individually-devastating challenges) captured by snake oil salesmen, peddling ignorance, fear and nostalgia, and ultimately throwing itself, lemming-like, from a cliff. There is much to read in this work, which has charming vignettes, a wealth of entertaining content and communicates on many levels. The work is a pen drawing in black and sepia ink with some toning in graphite and coloured pencil. This is the framed original work, which took about six months to complete. Prints are also available.
