Incoming tide captures the moment before the inevitable happens. When the water slowly floods in over the landscape to transform what we see. When I paint I enjoy looking at the natural elements of the landscape, sea and sky and the way they interact to create what we see from one minute to the next. Before you know it the tide has turned and we see something new.
I currently live in the leafy eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I grew up on a farm in the beautiful Yarra Valley where my appreciation of nature and the elements developed into the driving force in my art. I have always enjoyed painting. I find it relaxing and like my own form of meditation. I paint with acrylics onto canvas and quite often use a combination of brush and pallet knife in my work. I love the challenge of trying to interpret the relationships of light and colour in what we see in nature.
