The symbol used in this image is featured in a larger ritual design found inscribed in the trunk of one of several similarly inscribed gum trees marking the site of traditional ceremonial gatherings and corroborrees for the Biripi people at Koraki. The designs held deep spiritual significance for our people and for connection to the land. Seven inscriptions were recorded by an observer at what was most likely the last corroborree at Koraki before the tribes were dispersed and the trees felled.
