Artwork Description

Dhinawan (Gamilaraay for emu). This naïve/primitivist dhinawan is heavily textured in impasto gel. Atelier Interactive professional artists acrylic and Atelier impasto gel. Large feature artwork.

It depicts a Gamilaraay emu eying off the viewer. The males are very protective of their eggs / nests. An ‘emu caller’ is use to lure out / distract the male so that some of the eggs may be taken with the rest left to hatch. It has been completed as part of my ‘Bright and Deadly’ series of paintings and prints.

Very heavily textured painting. 380gsm 100% cotton deep edge stretched canvas. Ready to hang.
The back of the artwork is titled, dated, signed and has a unique 5 digit artwork ID number to identify it. The artwork is secured by 49 strand grade316 stainless steel wire rope, 316grade stainless steel wire rope grips and screw eyes.

Currently in an exhibition at Yaama Ganu Gallery Moree.
