I was fortunate to have the opportunity to make two portraits of Neil. In this painting I depicted him with one of his deer. It shows the bond between the man and the animal. It was a great subject but made all the more interesting because of the great character shown in his face. He epitomises the bush and the land and Australians' down to earth approach to life.
