Afternoon Delight

A handful of Calibri poppies from the garden in a brass vase I picked up from an op shop, a mixture of the ephemeral with the ancient. The wax medium increases texture and transparency with a matte finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
