Aubergines

I tried my hand at growing eggplants this year and was wildly successful (an unusual circumstance) -so had to have a shot at painting them...in particular I love their leafy caps and smooth colour. Set in a simple composition to give them centre stage with cold wax medium to give a textured candle like finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
