Blue Jug And Joy (M)

A friend collected these from an old flower farm long closed but the daffy's haven't realized that. They were a bunch to pass on to someone who had, had a rough week. I did a little painted study while they were in transit. A bold color palette to suit a resilient flower. Cold wax was used which adds transparency and texture whilst leaving a matte candlelike finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
