Along the west coast of Greece, atop of the Ionian Sea, sits the stunning island of
Lefkada. Its marina plays host to countless yachts and those who sail upon them. As
the day closes out and taverna’s fill up, the yachts are left to tell tales of adventures
had, and some to come.
I stood amidst the forest of masts and bobbing hulls, amongst the ping of the rigging
and rubbing fenders. I still picture myself there, listening as a guest, to stories of
moments lived and shared. And if you listen carefully, I’m sure you’ll hear them too.
I wanted to capture the lively mood with a colour palette of place, but not in place,
and the vast gathering of vessells with a structure that is layered yet flat.
