Just Wait (M)

Every year I like to do a painting of freesias.. I love their sweeping stems, fragrance and the fact they’re early harbingers of spring. This work has multiple layers which gives it complexity and literally glows. The wax gives it a candle like finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
