Leonardis

Last lockdown ( I can’t believe that is now such a casual term as a Melbournian) I stopped by the flower tent to pick up something to inspire a painting on the way home. Leonardis roses fit the bill with their beautiful colour shift and rusty reds. I think I spent longer on the stripes for the cloth than anything. The work is highly textured because of the use of cold wax medium with a matt finish. Prints available on request

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
