Artwork Description

My lovely vase of Proteas from last year is still sitting on my desk. The dried profiles of the flower are really interesting so to bring that out the composition is graphic in nature moving between the ochres and darks to give interest. The cold wax medium leaves a more textured matte finish.

Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
