Open Sea

This work is developed from a drawing done onsite at Petani Bay, Cephalonia, Greece. A stunning place with the eclectic mix of the old and new. These old boat slips a rugged mix of materials and old fishing boats. The bay was a popular spot for yachts as well.
A bright sunny work that draws your eye through the work to the open water. The cold wax leaves a matte candle like finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
