I spent a day at a tiger sanctuary in Thailand drawing. Loved the power and fluid movement of these big cats. The two images are woven together in this work to encourage the viewer to work to find each cat and give a sense of movement. The focus is magnified with a minimal use of colour. I used ink on a oil wash. Then further oil to complete the image.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
