Passing Time

During 2020 when art lessons and life in general was restricted I set myself the challenge to paint a vase of flowers in the style of various artists who inspire me. So this one is some hydrangeas and a little organic shaped soap dish I love in the style of Brett Whiteley. Cold wax medium gives the oil paint a textured candle like finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
