Poppies From My Garden

This work is part of a collection using elements of detail and a limited palette. I was pretty excited to rescue a few poppies from the garden before the possums ate them. They’re beautiful, papery, transparent and vibrant colour. Original, prints available on request.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
