Ruby

I met Ruby while she was waiting for her person outside the book shop. The bond between a dog and his owner is one of my favorite things to observe. I had a bit of fun with the underpainting dropping ink from a height to kick start the spots. The wax medium leaves a matte candle like finish.

Bronwen is a Melbourne based artist. She paints mainly with oil, sometimes adding a cold wax medium. Her paintings are developed from observational sketches made on site and then revisited in the studio. Whilst remaining largely figurative, she pays homage to contemporary art theory. Subjects include landscape, figure, still life and animals studies.
